AudienceConnections.com and Michael Louis provide support, training materials, coaching, consulting, and coursework for experienced, professional, working, non-working, and absolute beginner artists.
All sessions are custom tailored to the needs of the artist as discussed in the first consultation(s), and on an on-going basis throughout the duration of the coaching or consulting relationship. Staying in touch and thoroughly flexible with the clients needs is of paramount importance in ANY coaching or consulting relationship.
Live in person one-on-one coaching may be available, depending on current scheduling needs, as is using video conferencing services such as Skype. The online option can work especially well if 1) the client lives far from the Los Angeles area and finds it difficult to travel, or 2) the client's art or career relies heavily, if not solely, on the use of video, audio, the written word.
As part of the coaching process, clients may choose to email video, audio, writings or other content to receive detailed hand-written (and/or video, audio, phone) critiques, notes, and feedback.
This method has proven to be extremely effective, especially when constructive feedback is urgently needed on a current time sensitive project or performance. Such circumstances may be:
- The need to get fresh experienced eyes on your audition performance or rehearsal performance when that audition or production is coming up.
- A public or online speaking engagement is just around the corner.
- A stand-up performance is coming up.
- Your need for honest, constructive feedback on your film/video dailies (footage, takes, scenes) while considering the feasibility of re-shoots, re-writes, re-direction, or other important considerations. This method is also beneficial for just general feedback about the strength of the scene/take/material, when it is not time-sensitive.
- A poetry or storytelling performance or reading is fast approaching.
- Your need for honest, constructive feedback on your musical performance if you're having some degree of trouble connecting fully and emotionally with your material (and hence missing out on that vital connection with the audience.)
Regardless of the area(s) of your interest, you will recieve honest constructive feedback, given with all the sensitivity and bedside manner of fellow communicative artist who's been involved in all the arts at the top of the page for over 20 years.
What is working is just as important as what is not working.
One thing is certain... if you work with me, and you are honestly open to genuine artistic growth – you will grow as an artist.
It is guarenteed.
Let's face it, it's not always the best idea to get feedback from friends and family. Though they mean well and want you to succeed, in my experience and in the experience of my clients and fellow artists, they are often afraid to hurt your feelings, or reluctant to give honest feedback for some other deep-seeded relationship reasons.
If you do trust these folks (and some of them you absolutely can), they certainly should not be the only ones you turn to for feedback. If I've learned anything in my over 20 years as a communicative artist, getting feedback from a knowledgeable, experienced, trustworthy third party, who has absolutely no major stakes in the relationship, is ALWAYS a good idea.
If you are an artist and want to market your talents, art, career, or other products, services, or causes unrelated to your art on the Internet (and I recommend that you do), I want to inform you that you are no longer only an artist. You are now also an entrepreneur. Which, put in simpler terms is: if you're not making the kind of money you know you deserve for the talent you've worked your butt off to fine tune and achieve, you'll want to develop some kind of online presence.
Audienceconnections.com and Michael Louis will do whatever it takes to help you become the best artist you can be. A special web page for "Artists Becoming Entrepreneurs" along with other transformative materials is on the way, so please stand by, and check back often.
Thanks for dropping by and checking out the Communicative Artists page. Our journey has just begun.
